Happy New Year/Green Plug at CES (r)

Happy New Year from all of us at Green Plug! 

As 2009 begins it's an extremely busy time at Green Plug as we get ready for a very exciting Consumer Electronics Show(r) in Las Vegas, January 8-11.  We'll be meeting with electronics manufacturers, retailers, distributors and other interested parties in our suite at the Platinum Hotel. If you're an electronics manufacturer and would like to schedule a meeting with Green Plug at CES please make an appointment with Green Plug .

We'll also be showcasing our technology at Lunch at Piero's, the well known media event that takes place at Piero's restaurant directly opposite the Las Vegas Convention Center on January 8th and 9th.  If you're a member of the media register to attend Lunch at Piero's .

At both venues we'll showcase the Innergie mCube90G the world’s smallest and most veratile universal power adapter together with Green Plug technology providing power to a digital media enthusiast's toolkit, centered on an eco-friendly Fabrik SimpleTech [re]drive storage system,Ricoh R10 and GX200 digital cameras, and NEC Personal Products LaVie laptop. Greentalk technology will also power an HP TouchSmart PC, Panasonic cordless phone, Canon photo printer and camcorder, Linksys wireless router, a cordless power drill, Westinghouse digital picture frame, portable Dynex DVD player, and several 5V devices, including iPhones and iPods. 'I Want My Green Plug' Launches

Today, we're extremely excited to announce the launch of an online, grassroots effort called I Want My Green Plug. 

And, we're putting the future of how consumer electronics are powered in your hands.

Without the voice of the consumer -- without your voice -- consumer electronic companies won't be motivated to change the current standard of external power supplies. And as we've mentioned before, it's not only madness to have to use a different power adapter for all of your electronics -- it is also extraordinarily wasteful.

So. Here's how you can make a difference.

By submitting your vote on iwantmygreenplug.com, you're sending a powerful, positive message to the consumer electronics industry. You're voting for an end to power cord chaos, and for open standards that eliminate the need for multiple power adapters for consumer electronics. At the same time, you're voting against waste, and taking concrete action to help the environment.

If this is important to you, if you own multiple electronic devices (like a laptop, cell phone, iPod, printer, router)and care about the future of our planet, then please take 3 minutes and vote. Then go tell 10 friends.

Obama Tells Americans to Unplug Their Cell Phone Chargers

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, did you happen to see President-elect Barack Obama’s interview with Barbara Walters?  It was a wide ranging interview, but one of the things they covered was Obama’s plans to “green" the White House.  While Obama wants to find ways to save energy in the White House, he also says it’s incumbent on every American to do their part to save energy.

Not only does Obama seem to be the greenest President in quite some time, he also appears to be the most technically savvy.  I strongly suspect that he’ll be the first president to use email as part of his daily routine.  It’s refreshing to see a President who uses technology as part of his daily life, just like the rest of us.  

He’s even fighting to be able to keep his Blackberry for staying on top of his email on the go, despite some Secret Service concerns about his security if his head is bowed down reading a tiny screen with both thumbs typing away at the keypad.  Obama’s Blackberry is so important to him that he must need to charge it every night - and he has encouraged all Americans to do their part in saving energy by unplugging their cell phone chargers when their phones are finished charging.  

If the leader of the free world is spending 5 seconds a day unplugging his Blackberry charger when it’s finished charging, that’s 5 seconds too many.  Instead, why not use Green Plug (www.greenplug.us)? Green Plug provides technology that allows for chargers to stop drawing power when the device connected to them, such as a cell phone, is fully charged or disconnected from the charger.  

I hope to have a chance to personally demonstrate our technology for Green Technology President Obama.  Can any of the readers of this blog help me make this happen?
