I'm a fan of hyphenating three-word phrases (like that one) to avoid ambiguity, so your "cost-competitive solutions" is correct. But you're going overboard with the hyphens. "square-wave of voltage", "digital-controller", "demands for power-converters" are not ambiguous phrases that need hyphens for clarity.

I want more DC and fewer power bricks and wall warts in my life.

Hello Skierpage:

Thank you for your comments. We couldn't agree more with both of your comments. We too want more DC and fewer power bricks and wall warts. And, we will try to refrain from excessive use of hyphens in the future.

Thanks your your comments.
